mateo is fighting a little bug. the last two nights have been rough going for that little peanut. both nights i have had to bring him in to bed with us to snuggle a bit-- not that it really is that much of a sacrifice! and last night i brought him in, laid with him for a bit and then went off to brush my teeth and whatnot and i came back to find little mateo with his arm wrapped around his big sister's neck. talk about making your heart melt. their relationship seems to get stronger each day. mateo adores pilar and pilar teases him with loving affection to no end. i have a feeling that mateo might someday say what tio has said in the past-- that he feels like he has two mother's at times. but i think i have gotten better at not mothering my brother over the years and i am sure pilar will learn to do the same. especially if she has her own children to mother some day. but it is true that there is nothing quite like the love of a sibling-- it is irresistibly sweet.

Oh my that is the sweetest thing I have ever seen!!
Hugs and kisses to you all,

What a lovely post Shay. All of us oldest daughters mother our siblings a little bit, forever, but as they get older I am sure Pilar will learn more about what she receives from her little brother too. Lucky, lucky children to have each other. xoxo
