mateo turned 1 month last wednesday. progress has been slow as you can tell from my lack of posts....however, we are slowly surfacing here. i have managed an outing a day for the past week or so and that helps me to feel more human. i love my house but i was nearly ready to climb the walls.
mateo is absolutely thriving. we have not weighed him recently but i would guess he is pushing 11 pounds at this point. i make lots of milk (for better or worse!) he has really big cheeks and is working on his multiple chins. he is also begining to hold his head up for about a minute at a time (those chins are good for something). mostly he is a happy baby though he is not so fond of the car- this is a bit upsetting to me and makes me nervous for our trips to ashland, especially those i will take on my own. we will work on it.
pilar is a fantastic big sister. she adores her little brother. i suspect he will become very fond of her smothering affection though right now he is not so sure what to make of it. pilar has been keeping herself really busy the past few weeks with lots of art projects. i find them all over the house. she also learned to ride her bike this past weekend which put a smile on her face that i will never forget! such a sense of accomplishment so clearly evident on her face. she also lost her second bottom tooth last week- she is really starting to look like a grade schooler these days. pretty darn cute.
all in all we are doing pretty well. david has finally returned to work after spending weeks nursing me back to health with the help of noni, babu and grandma beena. i think he is happy to be back at it and done hearing me moan and groan about how slow the recovery process is. i am not a good sicko that's for sure!
